Poster war erupts in Tirupur city
Tirupur: After miscreants pasted posters at Pattukottaiyar Nagar in the city warning DMK and Left parties not to come seeking votes, residents placed hoardings saying that AIADMK and BJP should not visit their houses.

“Some miscreants, who we suspect belonged to right wing forces, pasted posters claiming that as Lord Ayyappa devotees resides here, DMK and communist party candidates should not come and ask for votes. Since many people in the area support Left parties, the miscreants might have wanted to create tension in the area,” said S Thangaraj, a CPM functionary. “So, we placed hoardings saying that since girl children are living here, AIADMK and BJP should not visit houses here. Other hoarding also said that AIADMK and BJP, which destroyed Tirupur knitwear industry, should stay away from the houses. We were forced to place the hoardings, otherwise the miscreants or the police would remove those posters. The miscreants pasted the posters on Sunday night and after we placed our hoardings, they removed them on Monday night. Following which, we also removed the hoardings,” he said.
