Chilling dashcam footage captured the moment a man chased down an 11-year-old girl on a busy overpass before assaulting the girl and attempting to abduct her.
Queensland man John Stephen Watterson, 29, pleaded guilty to indecent treatment of a child and assault occasioning bodily harm in the Brisbane District Court on Tuesday.
CCTV footage captured showed Watterson pass the 11-year-old as she walked across an overpass in Lawnton in February, before returning to attack her.
Dashcam footage also showed the 11-year-old girl crossing the traffic overpass just moments before she was assaulted.

The CCTV footage, shared by 9 News, first captures Watterson driving past the young girl before doing a U-turn and passing her again.
A short time later he is then seen running out from a park and up the footpath toward the young girl.

The grainy footage then captures the moment he pushed the girl to the ground and touches her inappropriately.
While trying to then abduct the girl she screamed out 'what the hell', which prompted him to flee.
Video then shows the girl running across the multi-lane road to safety before a passer-by stops to assist.
The 11-year-old suffered grazes to her knee, eye and forehead as a result of the attack.
The man was then caught on CCTV camera at a nearby Aldi immediately after the incident, allegedly as a premeditated alibi.
However dashcam footage from the area of the attack showed Watterson with his black SUV, the same one caught on the CCTV footage a short time later.
Watterson's defence lawyer, Shaune Irving told 9 News his client entered an early guilty plea.
'Primarily so he can reduce further trauma to the victim and the victim's family,' he said outside court.
Watterson remains in custody and will face sentencing in June.
