BJP leaders exhort people while campaigning in Ballari

BJP leaders, campaigning for their party candidate Y. Devendrappa in various villages in Ballari taluk on Monday, exhorted the people to ensure “[Narendra] Modi once again” for the development of country.

Addressing a series of meetings in Sangankal, Siriwar, Vanenur, Bandral and Yerragudi villages, they said that for Mr. Modi to become Prime Minister again, to continue to give good governance and take the country on the path of development, announce many more pro-people welfare programmes, curb corruption and ensure safety and security of the country, among other things, electing a BJP candidate was a must.

The former Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar, while lambasting dynastic politics being pursued by the Congress at the national level and the Janata Dal (S) in the State, said that people should put an end to it and support the BJP and Mr. Modi.

Ridiculing the difference of opinions coming to the fore among the partners of Mahagathbhandan at the national level and also the lack of coordination between the coalition Janata Dal (S) and Congress in the State, Mr. Shettar said that it was the BJP alone which could give a clean, good and stable government.

“We are unanimous and want Mr. Modi to become the Prime Minister again. But in the Mahagathbhandan, there is no clarity with some of the partners staking their claim to the post of Prime Minister. The country could develop only with a stable government and only the BJP was capable of giving it (stable government),” he reiterated.

Mr. Devendrappa assured that if he was elected MP, he would strive for the overall development of the district and also for the welfare of the people.

Sanna Phakkirappa, former MP, Mrutyunjaya Jinaga, former MLC, Gurulinganagouda were among other leaders who spoke.
