Minister PC Sharma on Monday claimed that ex-CM Digvijaya Singh is a descendent of Lord Rama, hence there can be no bigger Ram Bhakt than him. He said that Diggy along with his wife Amrita Rai completed the Narmada Yatra or the parikrama and added “Singh respects all Hindu deities and believes in Hinduism. He respects all religions.” Continuing further, the minister said that Digvijaya Singh is a Khichi Rajput and hails from Raghogarh named after temple of Raghavji (Rama).
The Congress leaders have been at pains to showcase their seniors as followers of Hindu gods. When party president Rahul Gandhi visited Bhopal, he was first described as Shiv Bhakt and later as Ram Bhahkt. Ever since party decided to field Digvijaya Singh from Bhopal Lok Sabha seat, he has been visiting Omkareshwar, ashrams and saints to seek blessings.
