Florida Man Who Purchased Private Island For $8 Million, Later Arrested For Shoplifting

A wealthy Florida man who recently bought a private island for millions was later arrested for allegedly stealing items from a K-Mart.

Monroe County Sheriff’s Office arrested 59 year-old Andrew Francis Lippi and charged him with grand theft of $300 to under $5,000.

A week prior to Lippi’s arrest, he had purchased Thompson Island located in Key West for 8 million dollars.

The theft took place at a local K-Mart where Lippi allegedly stole $300.59 worth of merchandise including two coffeemakers, a bed skirt, and eight light bulbs.

According to the authorities, Lippi bought the items then later returned the packaging with miscellaneous objects inside.

Like reportedly placing a basketball inside the box for one of the coffeemakers.

Lippi was released the next day after his arrest.

The Miami Herald reached out to Lippi for comment who said he denied the charge against him and did not want to go into any further detail.
