Security footage captures the shocking moment an assassin is beaten after he failed to kill a 59-year-old businessman despite shooting him three times at a restaurant in Brazil

A CCTV camera inside a restaurant in Brazil recorded the frightening moment an alleged assassin opened fired on his target, before being subdued by his target's family.
The gunman is spotted surveying the area at the eatery in Lagoa Nova on the afternoon of April 3, before he slowly walked to a table where a local businessman was sharing a meal with his son and stepson.
The suspect is then seen pulling out a handgun from underneath his shirt and shooting the businessman.
Brazilian news outlet G1 said the shooter's motive could have been over a legal dispute involving money.
Authorities did not reveal the names of the individuals involved.

The shooting sent other customers running for cover, including the three men at the table.
A couple of seconds later, the victim's son seems to rush the shooter, making him retreat towards the opposite end of the floor.
The surveillance footage shows how the gunman tried to fire another shot but was unable to do so.

The businessman's stepson then joined the fray as they subdued the gunman.
He placed the man in a choke hold and dragged him across the dining area before the victim's son picked up the gun from the floor and aimed it at him.

The footage also showed businessman's son picked up a chair and blasted the shooting suspect across the midsection.
Amazingly he put up a struggle as both men continued to kick him and punch him in the head.
He was taken to a hospital and was treated for his injuries while under custody of the military police.
The shot businessman was transported to a local hospital and reportedly underwent a successful operation.
