A resolution seeking agricultural inputs at a subsidised rate and request to complete repair and renovation of water bodies in delta region before June by engaging farmers were passed at a meeting held at Thaiman Traditional Agri Related Producers Company, Tiruvarur, here recently.
The ‘Nammazhvar Award’ was presented to R. Dhanasekaran of Thanjavur on the occasion.
Mr. Dhanasekaran was selected for the award for his contribution towards uplift of economic status of rural women, according to a Thaiman press release.
A plea to the Central and State government to initiate steps for imparting proper training to organic farmers and assistance to organic farmers to market their produces after value addition was also made at the meeting.
