Nalgonda is one of Telangana’s 17 Lok Sabha constituencies which will be held on April 11 and held till May 23. Nalgonda parliamentary constituency comprises of seven assembly segments namely Nagarjunasagar, Devarkonda, Huzurnagar, Miryalaguda, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Kodad.

Nalgonda is one of Telangana’s 17 Lok Sabha constituencies which will be held on April 11 and held till May 23. Nalgonda parliamentary constituency comprises of seven assembly segments namely Nagarjunasagar, Devarkonda, Huzurnagar, Miryalaguda, Nalgonda, Suryapet and Kodad.

A CPI stronghold since the first election, it was wrested by Congress in the last two elections.

In the 2014 Lok Sabha Election, Congress leader Gutha Sukender Reddy won by a margin of 1,93,156 votes. He got 4,72,093 seats compared to TDP’s Tega Chinnappa Reddy who won 4,03,399 votes.

In 2009, Gutha Sukender Reddy had won by a margin of 1,52,983 votes beating CPI’s Suravaram Sudhakar Reddy who was second while Praja Rajyam Party’s Paduri Karuna stood third.

In 2014, 11,91,667 votes exercised their franchise, and of the nine candidates, six lost their depots.

2019 will see Congress' Uttam Kumar Reddy Nalamada faceoff against Mallu Laxmi (CPI), Garlapati Jithendra Kumar (BJP) and TRS’ Vemireddy Narasimha Reddy

Telangana, which has 17 Lok Sabha segments, goes to the polls in the first phase on April 11. They are  Karimnagar, Peddapalli, Adilabad, Zahirabad, Medak, Warangal, Mahabubabad, Khammam, Bhongir, Nalgonda, Nagarkurnool, Mahabubnagar, Chevella, Secunderabad, Nizamabad, Malkajgiri and Hyderabad.

In 2014, when the state was formed KCR's TRS won 63 of the 119 the Assembly seats in the state. The TRS also won 10 of the 17 Lok Sabha seats, with INC getting 2, BJP getting 1, AIMIM getting 1 and the YSCRCP ending up with one.
