Kandasamy accuses BJP of whipping up communal passion

Top leaders of the ruling Congress on Sunday fanned out to various suburbs of Puducherry to reach out to voters.

Parliamentary Secretary to Chief Minister K. Lakshminarayanan canvassed for votes for the Congress nominee V. Vaithilingam in Kuruchikuppam, Vazhaikulam and other areas in Raj Bhavan constituency.

Social Welfare Minister M. Kandasamy, accompanied by Mr. Vaithilingam, toured various parts of Embalam (Reserved) constituency. He blasted the BJP for fanning communal passions and said that the April 18 Lok Sabha polls was a fight between those championing the principles of democracy and those pampering autocracy.

“We should install a progressive and secular government under the leadership of AICC president Rahul Gandhi,” he said.

Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy undertook visits in Easwaran Koil and ECR areas.
