A cab driver was arrested by the HSR Layout police on Monday for allegedly smashing the screen of an ATM machine and attacking the security guard in an inebriated state. The owner of the cab, identified as Bhanu, and the driver’s friend Sairam were also arrested.
The incident occurred last week when Prakash, the cab driver, stopped the car at a Lakshmi Vilas Bank ATM to withdraw cash. Even after repeated attempts, he could not get cash. Enraged, he smashed the ATM screen and also attacked the security guard. The guard alerted the police who detained Prakash along with the owner of the cab, Bhanu, and Prakash’s friend Sairam. The trio have been charged with mischief and criminal intimidation.
