‘Days will continue to remain hotter in city’

PUNE: Though the night temperature across the State has reduced, the day temperature is still soaring. Pune on Sunday reported the day temperature at 38.6 degrees Celsius and night temperature at 20.4 degrees Celsius. Whereas the highest maximum temperature reported in the State was at Chandrapur at 43.4 degrees Celsius.

As per the India Meteorological Department (IMD), parts of Vidarbha and Marathwada may experience thundershower till April 11. Whereas Konkan and Goa and central Maharashtra shall remain dry during the same time.

Whereas for Pune, the day temperature will hover between 40 degrees Celsius and 39 degrees Celsius till April 13. Whereas, the night temperature may touch 21 degrees Celsius during the same time. The sky in the city shall remain clear. 

NATIONAL SCENARIO
According to IMD, heatwave conditions prevailed at most places over west Rajasthan and many places over east Rajasthan on Sunday.

These conditions are very likely to continue till Tuesday.

The highest maximum temperature recorded over the plains was at 43.6 degrees Celsius at Phalodi in west Rajasthan and Khargaon in west Madhya Pradesh on Sunday. 

Till April 9, IMD has predicted thunderstorm accompanied with gusty winds along with lightning over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Telangana and Kerala.

IMD has further predicted heatwave conditions at isolated pockets over Haryana, Chandigarh, Delhi, Rajasthan and Gujarat till April 11.
