JAIPUR: A division bench of Rajasthan High Court on Monday asked the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) on their plan on how they are going to develop Central Park following their claims of removal of encroachment. The court has also asked them to share the plan of widening of track between Ashok Club and Golf Club by July 8.

The bench comprising acting Chief Justice Mohammad Rafiq and Justice Goverdhan Bardhar passed the orders while hearing a PIL filed by Yogesh Yadav, an advocate. Earlier, the court had decided to see a CD having videos on the alleged encroachment on April 8 to which the court has given July 8 date.

During January 2019, the JDA authorities had maintained in the court that they have removed all the encroachments which were there inside the park, however, the petitioner Yogesh Yadav claimed that no such encroachments as claimed by JDA were removed. Thereafter, the petitioner Yadav claimed that he had videographed the areas where encroachments were still there to which court had asked to see these videos on April 8.

“On Monday, the court has asked JDA to share what are their plans to develop the Central Park after their claim of removal of encroachments inside the park. The court also asked JDA on how they are going to widen the track between golf club and Ashok Club. I also brought to fore the noise pollution inside the park through public function to which court asked JDA not to allow private vehicles and generators inside the park,” said Yogesh Yadav.

The petitioner is agitating on the issue of maintenance of Central park the illegal encroachments and constructions raided on the park. “The park is made for the purpose to benefit the general public, however JDA has been promoting encroachments and has not been able to erase them completely,” Yadav added.

It was also submitted in the court that certain persons with the sole intention of causing prejudice to the rights and interests of public at large have illegally encroached upon land of the Central park. “I had also requested the court to see the videography in which I have captured the areas and arenas where encroachments were made to which court had earlier asked to see in the court on April, 8. However, on Monday the court asked JDA to submit their plan on removal of encroachment and fixed July, 8 the date to see the videos and the plan to be submitted by the JDA,” he added.
