World Travel Market Africa is all geared up to kick-start from 10th April

It would be a business to business (B2B) event for travel professionals.

Reed Exhibitions’ Megan Oberholzer describes the way it is different from the annual Tourism Indaba in Durban.

It is an exclusive inbound and outbound travel trade show of its kind on the continent. Indaba gets the aid from the local destination market where they are mainly African and we have the outbound sector as well, said Megan Oberholzer, General Manager for Travel, Tourism & Sports – Reed Exhibitions. To quote Megan Oberholzer, General Manager for Travel, Tourism & Sports – Reed Exhibitions “We touch on all of our niche topics in the travel space.”

In 2019, the Market features some inaugural events, including an African and Tourism Investment Summit.

To quote Megan Oberholzer, General Manager for Travel, Tourism & Sports – Reed Exhibitions, We’re bringing in high-level ministers, they’re coming in from around the continent and we’re really looking at how do we as an industry support the investments that are required to make tourism possible.”

Another first, says Oberholzer, is a summit that is targeting on tourism in the tech space.

To quote Megan Oberholzer, General Manager for Travel, Tourism & Sports – Reed Exhibitions, “We are launching something called Travel Forward. It is our digital tourism summit and it’s looking at all things travel tech.”
