A man and woman remain on the run after another woman was stabbed in Ipswich on Sunday.

Police found a 32-year-old woman with multiple stab wounds when they were called to a home on Bergin Street in Booval about 3pm.

The victim was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in a serious condition on Sunday and she had improved to a serious but stable condition on Monday.

A man and a woman fled the scene and were still on the run on Monday but police said they believed they had identified a suspect.

Police said the victim did not live at the home where she was found.

Investigations continue.
