PATNA: The Lok Janshakti Party (LJP), an NDA ally, released its election manifesto on Sunday, promising strict action against ‘gau rakshaks (cow vigilantes)’ and those indulging in mob lynching.
LJP chief Ram Vilas Paswan, who released the manifesto, said even PM Narendra Modi was against cow vigilantism. The manifesto also promised that the party will work for ensuring reservation in private sector, making right to job a fundamental right and providing 12 decimal land to the landless people.

In its manifesto, the LJP has listed formation of communal riot control act for strict action against those spreading communal violence and giving hate speech. “A tribunal will be formed with judicial power to give judgment in communal cases,” Paswan said. The manifesto talks about filing of charge sheet and punishment of cow vigilantes within 30 days of their wrongdoing.

Paswan also promised formation of a youth commission to address the issues faced by the youth. The Union minister said job reservation would be provided to scheduled caste, scheduled tribe, backward caste and the poor from forward castes in private sectors. He also promised 50% reservation for women in public distribution system. “The LJP is in favour of 33% reservation for women in Parliament and state assembly,” Paswan said.

The manifesto also talks about providing health card to each newborn. Paswan said his party dreamt of providing equal education to all. “A child studying in a private or municipal school should have similar book, uniform and fee,” Paswan said. The manifesto has also promised free education up to secondary level, opening of free boarding school for dalit students in each block and one college in each district.

Paswan said his party would work to reduce the parity between the rich and the poor. He said NDA’s stress was on ‘sabka saath sabka vikas’. “The NDA will win all 40 seats in Bihar and over 350 seats across the country,” Paswan claimed.
