Coimbatore: The school education department, under the Samagra Shiksha, will conduct state-level achievement survey (SLAS) for Class VII students in government and government-aided schools in the district Today.
Officials said the test will be undertaken by all Class VII students in all government and government-aided schools, unlike the earlier tests where only selected students from selected schools participated.
Of the 21,074 students who will undertake the test, 15,274 are Tamil medium students and 5,800 are from English medium.
The test will assess the performance of students in all subjects. Based on the results, the officials will design intervention schemes and programmes for subjects in which students have to improve in the coming academic year.
The question paper will have 75 questions in optical mark recognition (OMR) format. The papers were sent to the block resource centres from the Samagra Shiksha district project office on Monday.
As the question papers are in OMR format, the evaluation process would be easy, an official said.
