PG Diploma in Business Journalism: Times School of Media opens admission application window

Times School of Media, Bennett University, has started the online application process for PG Diploma in Business Journalism in partnership with The Economic Times. Interested candidates can apply for this one-year program spread across two semesters through the official website.
Main Objective of the Course
Designing, monitoring, and running of the program are done through the Times Group. Top editors of the Economic Times and ET Now who bring in a high level of practical value to the course are consulted before designing the curriculum for the same. Regular visits are made by senior business journalists and experts to share their experiences and insights with the students. The constant interaction with top media professionals provides the best business journalism education to the students.
What Does the Student Learns?
Under this program, students get to learn a lot and work on three platforms- Business newspapers, Business TV channels, and Business websites. Diploma in Business Journalism focuses on providing skill-based education to students. Also, this course runs the students through different aspects of business journalism on all media platforms – from newspaper and television to web and mobile.
Besides, students learn to bring out a business newspaper, write business blogs, produce TV news bulletins that are business-focused, develop business videos for web, and write business reports.
Students gain a lot of software knowledge under this program. Through Adobe Premiere students are taught to edit television news bulletins, Adobe Photoshop helps in cropping and improving still photographs, and Adobe InDesign is used for making newspaper pages. Not only this, but students are given a chance to work on the Times Group’s Content Management System.
Eligibility Criteria for the Course
An entrance test is conducted for the applicants that help in evaluating their proficiency in the English language and basic understanding of Economics.
Also, students who have completed their graduation from a recognized university are eligible to apply for this course. Moreover, if an applicant is selected then he/she is required to provide the marks of graduation to the University, as soon as possible.
Scholarship and Internship Facility
Under this program, 2 recipients are eligible to get 50% of the tuition fee as the scholarship if they have scored 80% or above in the board examination. Besides, a near about 17 students are eligible to get a scholarship who have scored well in the board exams.
A 6 to 8-week internship program is conducted by the Times School of Media which is a part of this course. Students get to learn a lot by joining top business newspapers, channels, and portals during their internship program.
