Senior Congress leader S Jaipal Reddy has launched a scathing attack against TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao for remaining silent and not reacting to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s anti-people policies.

Talking to newsmen here on Monday, he said that Mr. Modi is conducting raids on people who are opposing him. “If Mr. Rao is opposing Modi, why are there no raids on him and his family members,” he asked.

Stating that Mr. Rao is abusing Modi only to please the minorities, he said that Mr. Rao maintains dosti (friendship) with Modi in New Delhi and kushti (fight) in Hyderabad. He cautioned people to be wary about the secret friendship between Mr. Modi and Mr. Rao. The defeat of TRS has started from Karimnagar with the party receiving a jolt in the MLC elections, he said and added that the Congress would win more MP seats than the TRS in the State. He alleged that the Chief Minister made debts to the tune of ₹ 1.5 lakh crore in five years when the debt was only ₹ 70,000 crore before the State formation.

Recollecting the services of TPCC working president Ponnam Prabhakar during the statehood movement, he said that Ponnam was not against upper castes and that he was his discipline along with former MP J. Chokka Rao and Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy.

Congress contestant Ponnam Prabhakar, CAIMS chairman Ch Laxminarasimha Rao and others were also present.
