AGRA: A serving group captain of the Indian Air Force was killed while his wife and two children were injured in an accident on the Agra-Lucknow expressway on Saturday afternoon.

Jasveer Singh (49) was posted in Panagarh, Paschim Bardhaman district of West Bengal. He was heading home in Saket area of New Delhi along with his wife Komal Kaur, 46, son Abhayraj, 16 and Avni, 13, via Agra-Lucknow expressway in his multiutility vehicle.

According to police, at around 4:30 pm on Saturday Singh’s car rammed into the divider near Katfori under Sirsaganj police jurisdiction of Firozabad district.

"It's not clear how the car met with an accident, but it's most likely that the victim fell asleep at the wheel due to the long exhausting journey. All the victims were taken to Saifai medical college for treatment, where the IAF officer was declared brought dead. His wife and children were injured and are being treated,” said a police officer of Sirsaganj police station.
