India's first indigenously designed and developed Dhanush artillery gun got inducted in the Indian Army during a ceremony held at Ordnance Factory in Jabalpur on Monday. Dhanush, a 155mm/45 calibre towed gun system is deployable in all types of terrains. It is also the third artillery gun to be inducted into the force after the K-9 Vajra, and the M-777 ultra-light howitzers were recruited in November last year. Part of Army's ‘mediumisation’ of the artillery, the guns will be deployed along the borders with Pakistan and China.
