TDP nominee for Visakhapatnam Lok Sabha constituency M. Sri Bharat on Sunday released a ‘manifesto’ with a theme ‘Happy Vizag-Healthy Vizag’, promising all-round development if the city, if he was voted to power.
Mr. Bharat told the media that he would put in efforts to develop 12 sectors including health, education, tourism, IT, pollution control, sports, civic amenities, skill development, transportation and etc.

“I will try to expand the King George Hospital (KGH) from existing 1,300 beds to 2,500, apart from improving the amenities. This manifesto also focusses on several civic issues including underground drainage, drinking water supply among others,” he said.
The manifesto also includes setting up SC/ST study circles, completion of IIM campus and petroleum university on fast tracks. He also promised that he would bring pressure on the Centre to retain Waltair division in the newly formed railway zone, setting up of Railway Recruitment Board office in the city, fast track the metro rail project.
Women’s safety
Referring to women’s safety, Mr. Bharat said that it was not enough to ensure safety, but a suitable environment should be ensured for women empowerment. Developing the city as a hub for sports, eco-tourism and water adventure destination were some of his other plans for the city.
“If I am elected as MP, a meeting will be conducted between the officers and departments concerned related to these sectors within three months. We will come up with a strategy to ensure all the points in this manifesto are covered and realised,” he said.
