BJP candidate from Visakhapatnam North Assembly constituency P. Vishnu Kumar Raju has refuted the land grabbing allegations made against him by the TDP leaders.
“Though there is no need for me to respond to the wild allegations made by TDP leaders, who are involved in grabbing land, I chose to respond as it can send wrong signals to the people ahead of the elections,” he told the media here on Sunday.
Mr. Raju clarified that his wife and some relatives had purchased a piece of land in the survey no. 13/3 at Madhavadhara in 2008. “The title is clear and I have submitted the same in the declaration of assets at the time of filing of my nomination. I have sought protection only for 2.08 acres of government land, which the land grabbers are trying to encroach upon. I have written to the Joint Collector to protect the government land.”
Mr. Raju further said that he had sought an appointment from the Special Investigation Team (SIT) appointed for probing into the land grab allegations. “It is a move by the TDP leaders is to tarnish my clean image,” he said and added that he would take legal recourse against these allegations.
