A 25-year-old executive of a BPO company has accused her senior executives of forcing her to confess to carrying out a financial fraud. The woman is also a senior executive in the firm. In her police complaint, she alleged that the management detained her for several hours accusing her of misusing her position to commit financial fraud.
“She told us that she denied the allegations despite their attempts to force a confession, and demanded that the company provide proof of her involvement,” said the police. She was asked not to report to work until the BPO finished its investigation.
The BPO specialises in providing assistance to foreign clients by booking hotels and air tickets. As per the company policy, clients can claim a refund if they are not satisfied with the service.
The company executives allegedly accused the victim of misusing the compensation amount, which runs into several hundreds of dollars. Though the company initiated an internal probe in this matter nearly a month ago, there has been no outcome, said the woman in her complaint to the police on Tuesday. The Whitefield police have filed an FIR against the company.
