Kurnool Lok Sabha Constituency: Kurnool parliamentary election will be held on April 11 in the first phase of the General election 2019. The contest in this constituency is going to be held among BJP's Dr PV Parthasarthi, Congress’ Ahmed Ali Khan, CPI(M) K Prabhakara Reddy, YSR Congress’ Sanjeev Kumar and TDP’s Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy.

Kurnool Lok Sabha constituency is among one of those districts which have been affected by naxalism. Kodumur is one among the seven assembly segments in Kurnool which has been reserved for Scheduled Caste candidates. Congress’ Kotla Vijaya Bhaskara Reddy is a popular leader in the region who has been elected as Member of Parliament 6 times.

The voter turnout in 2014 in Kurnool was 72%. Out of a total population of 2016981 in Kurnool constituency, 30.7% is urban and 69.3% is rural. While 17.5 & 1.28 are the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) ratio.

Kurnool Lok Sabha results in 2014, 2009 and 2004

2014: Butta Renuka(F) of the YSR Congress received 472782 votes. He defeated Bendula Thirumala Naidu (M) of the TDP who got 428651 votes.

2009: Jaya Surya Prakash (M) of the Congress got 382668 votes. He defeated BT Naidu (M) of the TDP who secured 308895 votes. 

2004: Kotla Jayasurya Prakasha Reddy(M) of the Congress secured 433529 votes and defeated Kambalapadu  Ediga Krishnamurthi (M) of the TDP who got 332431 votes.

Lok Sabha election 2019 in all 25 constituencies in Andhra Pradesh will be held on April 11. The state will also see simultaneous assembly election 2019. The counting of votes of both the elections will be done on May 23.
