PATNA: Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) led by former CM Jitan Ram Manjhi released the party’s election manifesto on Saturday, promising introduction of common school system, land for landless farmers, publication of caste census and reservation for scheduled caste (SC) community in the judiciary.
The party, an ally of the Grand Alliance in state, claimed that its manifesto has focused on welfare of poor, backwards, SC and socially downtrodden people. “No other party has touched these issues,” it said.
After releasing the party’s 16-page manifesto, Manjhi said, “We will implement all promises if our alliance comes to power at the Centre.” HAM (S) is contesting three seats in state.
Referring to the state’s prohibition policy, Manjhi said, “We are not against prohibition, but the Talibani law enforced by the state government should go. We will change the Bihar Excise (Amendment) Act, 2016 as per provisions of the 1991 prohibition policy of Manipur, which granted exemption to SC and ST communities to brew liquor for traditional purposes.”
