‘Row over woman’ led to guard killing

Gurgaon: A common love interest made security guard Naufil Anwar stab his colleague to death in Sheetla Hospital on New Railway Road on Friday morning, police said.
This was revealed after a special team of the Sector 17 crime unit, headed by inspector Narender Chauhan, caught the accused, who was on the run with his family, from his uncle’s house in Sikandrabad, UP. He was later brought to Gurgaon.

Earlier, an FIR under Section 302 (murder) had been registered against Naufil at the city police station. Police are set to produce him in a city court by Sunday.

According to preliminary investigations, both men were interested in the same woman but police did not clarify whether the woman was also with the hospital.

The duo had been asking each other to back off since the past one week and had a violent scuffle before the murder.

Around 3am on Friday, Naufil Anwar’s family was called to the hospital to take him away from there.

However, around 5am, the angry man returned to the hospital to kill his colleague. He even managed to get a knife from a coconut water seller near the hospital.

“After his family members went to sleep, he returned to the hospital with a clear intention — to kill the security guard, Jugal Kishor. He stabbed him fifteen times. A row over a woman appears to have been the motive of the murder,” said Shamsher Singh Dahiya, ACP (crime).

The murder was captured by the CCTV cameras and the footage has been retrieved by the police.
