Mizoram Chief Electoral Officer Ashish Kundra has announced a selfie contest for young and first-time voters on April 11, the day of election to the lone Lok Sabha seat in the State. Eligible voters will have to post selfies showing their finger marked with the indelible ink or their voters’ ID on Instagram with #MizoramVotes, or send it to the election office’s WhatsApp number. The best three selfies will win ₹7,000, ₹3,000, and ₹2,000. “This is to encourage first-time voters to exercise their franchise,” Mr. Kundra said.
