GURUGRAM: Parents of the seven-year-old boy whose mutilated body was found in DLF 1 on April 1 are not satisfied with the police investigation even though they have apprehended a 13-year-old in connection with the case. Earlier, they had raised suspicions about the teenager, who has now confessed to the murder, and his mother and sister.
Police have managed to recover only the head and legs and are still looking for the victim’s torso. According to his mother, the family is waiting for the remaining body parts so that they can give her child an apt farewell. “We don’t believe that some animal devoured his body because why would it take his eyes and torso and leave the rest behind? Police have been unable to find the remaining body parts which, we believe, have been hidden so that the real motive behind the murder does not come out,” she said.
She also expressed dissatisfaction that police had virtually concluded the investigation after the teenager’s confession. “From day one, we have been telling them that the accused’s mother and sister are involved. Now, the duo has fled from this area. A teenager alone cannot hack a body. Police need to find out who were helping him and the real reason behind the murder,” she added.
Police have added sections of the SC/ST (prevention of atrocities) Act in the FIR which was filed under IPC sections of 302 (murder), 201 (hiding evidence) and 34 (common intention) at the DLF 1 police station.
ACP (Crime) Shamsher Dahiya said police were investigating all possible angles. “We have asked the doctor who conducted the postmortem to join our investigation. Our teams are searching for the torso, and even though there has been no update in the case, we hope the picture will be clear soon,” he said.
A senior police officer confirmed that the accused’s mother and sister had left their locality and started living in another place.“We have been in touch with them on a regular basis and questioned them on many different points but have not found any hint of their involvement,” he said.
