Former Minister Botcha Satyanarayana on Sunday said that Chief Minister N.Chandrababu Naidu was at the fag end of his political career and would face the worst-ever defeat in the election to be held on April 11 in the State.
Mr.Satyanarayana, who is contesting on YSRCP ticket from Cheepurupalli of Vizianagaram district, campaigned in several villages. Addressing local gatherings, he alleged that Mr.Chandrababu Naidu failed to develop backward Vizianagaram although he could get a massive mandate from the district in the 2014 election.
Later, speaking to the media, he said people were eager to teach him a lesson since they had lost hope completely on the TDP government. “TDP’s so-called welfare schemes would not give any political dividends. Mr.Chandrababu Naidu announced ‘koti varalu’ (one crore boons) in 2004 election but he was defeated and TDP was confined to 47 Assembly seats out of 293 in united Andhra Pradesh,” said Mr.Satyanarayana.
Pre-poll surveys
“Almost all the national surveys predicted a landslide victory for YSRCP. The party will also play a crucial role in New Delhi as it is expected to be the fourth largest party in Parliament,” he added.
He said that the party was getting a positive feedback from all sections of society for its manifesto released on Saturday. “YSR’s family always keeps its promises. That is why, people are believing the words of YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy,” he added.
YSRCP candidate for Vizianagaram Lok Sabha seat Bellana Chandrasekhar, who campaigned along with Mr.Satyanarayana, said that rural areas were completely neglected during the TDP regime.
He promised to give top priority to irrigation if he was elected.
