TRS candidate for Mahabubabad Lok Sabha constituency Maloth Kavitha feels her rapport with the public as well as the party’s popularity will ensure her victory in the election.
Ms. Kavitha, who has served as Mahabubabad MLA, said the BJP has no presence in the constituency while Congress candidate and former union minister P. Balram Naik “does not have a good public image and has failed to bring about any development during his tenure as MP”.
The people of Yellandu, Mahabubabad, Dornakal and Pinapaka segments treat her as a family member and being the daughter of six-time MLA D.S. Redya Naik would also favour her, she says.
“I am fortunate that KCR [Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao] has been very supportive. He has also promised to sanction a medical college here. I will pursue the Bayyaram steel factory project that will bring more jobs for the local youth,” Ms Kavitha said.
The State government’s announcement to set up agri-based industries would boost the standard of living of people, she said. “The decision to make this bustling town a district headquarters has come as a blessing since this is a predominantly tribal area. The infrastructure that the new district headquarters acquires will also help locals as their land value will go up,” she added.
