Two diamond rings belonging to an employee of a private company were allegedly stolen in the washroom of a well-known hotel on Kumar Krupa Road on Thursday.
Tanvi Maheshwari, in her complaint to the High Grounds police, said she had organised a company conference at the hotel. Around 6.45 p.m., she went to the washroom and removed the rings to wash her hands. She told the police that she left it on the sofa, but noticed that they were missing a few seconds later.
She immediately brought it to the notice of the hotel management, who along with the security staff, searched the entire area till after midnight, said a police officer. Unable to find her rings, she filed a complaint.
The police have sought CCTV footage of the conference room and are questioning the security and house keeping staff.
