No boat yet for Dalelpur voters

NOIDA: A boatman roped in by the administration to ferry 28 voters from Dalelpur village across the Yamuna on the polling day on April 11 has refused to give his boat. The Noida administration had engaged a Haryana-based boatman, Kushhal Singh, to provide his motorboat to take the villagers to Dadri.
Singh, however, said on Saturday his routine work would get affected if his boat was used in Dalelpur. “I usually engage my boat in Alipur village. This is the season of harvest and around 500 people cross the Yamuna on my boat daily. If I engage this boat in Dalelpur, villagers in Alipur will be in a difficult situation,” he said. The need for a boat arose after the only boat that Dalelpur had was washed away in the current last week.
