Man breaks glass door of SBI ATM booth

CHANDIGARH: Police here have booked an unknown person for scaling the glass door of an SBI ATM kiosk in Sector 10 early on Saturday. According to the police, there was no security guard deputed at the ATM when the incident occurred. However, the ATM machine was not damaged in the incident. Sector 3 police is scrutinising the CCTV footage installed at the kiosk.


The incident came to fore when Mohinder Singh, security guard of the ATM reached the kiosk at around 9:30 am and found the door of the ATM broken. He raised an alarm and informed the bank officials who further told the police about the incident. Cops reached the spot and checked the CCTV footage and found that one person in inebriated condition broke the glass door of the ATM with a brick. The accused fled the spot in his black Scorpio car.


The accused did not try to loot the ATM, said police. Sector 3 police have registered a case and started investigation.
