The contest here is going to be among BJP’s Valluru Jayaprakash Narayana, Congress’ Shaik Mastan Vali, YSR Congress’ Modugula Venugopal Reddy and TDP’s Galla Jayadev. In 2014, the voter turn-out in the constituency was between 78-80% while in 2009, it was between 74-76%.

Guntur Lok Sabha Constituency 2019: In the forthcoming Lok Sabha election which will be held on April 11, the contest here is going to be among BJP’s Valluru Jayaprakash Narayana, Congress’ Shaik Mastan Vali, YSR Congress’ Modugula Venugopal Reddy and TDP’s Galla Jayadev. In 2014, the voter turn-out in the constituency was between 78-80% while in 2009, it was between 74-76%.
 
Guntur is considered as Andhra Pradesh’s educational hub and has been a stronghold of the Congress party. It has a total population of 4,889,230 according to 2011 census. Some of the crucial crops grown in Guntur are paddy, cotton, pulses, chillies and tobacco.
 
One of the key election issues in Guntur is going to be the lack of development activity in the region. Locals are allegedly not satisfied over the pending work of a drainage system and a couple of other issues meanwhile. The main contest here is going to be between TDP and YSRCP candidates. 
 
Jayadev Galla (M) of the TDP is the sitting MP in Guntur who got 618417 votes and defeated Balashowry Vallabhaneni (F) of the YSR Congress Party by over a lakh votes. He had got 549306 votes.

2014: Jayadev Galla (M) of the TDP got 618417 votes who defeated Balashowry Vallabhaneni (F) of the YSR Congress who received 549306 votes.
 
2009: Rao, Shri Rayapati Sambasiva (M) of the Congress received 403937 votes who defeated Madala Rajendra (M) of the TDP who got 364582 votes.
 
2004: Rayapati Sambasiva Rao (M) of the Congress received 466221 votes. He defeated YV Rao (M) fo the TDP who secured 336429 votes.
 
Lok Sabha election 2019 in Andhra Pradesh will be held across all 25 parliamentary seats in the first phase on April 11. The state will also see simultaneous assembly election 2019 and the votes will be counted on May 23.
