Fittings stolen from Judges Bungalows in Ahmedabad

AHMEDABAD: Thieves made off with expensive bathroom and kitchen fitting from a bungalow in the heavily guarded Judges Bungalows enclave in the Vastrapur area of the city on Saturday.
Rajkaran Yadav (53), a resident of Shastrinagar and a native of Sultanpur in UP, is a work assistant with the PWD.

“After finishing work on Bungalow No.29 in the enclave, he is overseeing renovation work at Bungalow No.14,” a a police official said.


According to the FIR lodged by Yadav, he had hired Rakesh Meda and his wife Rangu for the renovation work. Both have been working with him for the last three years, under the supervision of their contractor, Vaibhav Madidas Suthar, a resident of Ghodasar,” a police official said.


On Saturday evening, Suthar told him that the lock on the general toilet at Bungalow No.29 was found broken and bathroom and kitchen accessories had been stolen. On inspecting the site, Yadav found that fitting from bathrooms and the kitchen had been stolen, according to the FIR filed by Yadav.


Apart from high court justices, many senior IPS officers live in the heavily-guarded Judges’ Bungalows enclave.
