Amarpreet Singh Makkar
Ludhiana: 27 year old Indian Trade Services (ITS) officer Hapreet Singh of Ludhiana district secured 19th rank in civil services examination results. Harpreet, a native of Doraha has made his town and district proud with this achievement. He has also served as Commandant in Border Security Force (BSF) and was posted at Bangladesh Border.

In 2017, Harpreet secured 454th rank in civil services and posted in Indian Trade Services (ITS), Ministry of Commerce, Government of India. However, in first three attempts he failed to crack the civil services examination but he didn’t lose hope and make into civil services in fourth attempt. To improve his rank, Harpreet again appeared in exam and this time he secured 19th rank. His aim was to become IAS or IFS officer.
Harpreet Singh has done bachelors in Electronics and communication engineering from Thappar Institute and Technology. Before serving in BSF, he worked with IT company- IBM.
His father Malwinder Singh is businessman and mother Gurpreet Singh school teacher. The parents of Hapreet said that their son was hardworking and always wanted to become IAS officer. They are proud that their son will be serving nation through administrative services.
Harpreet Singh is first from Doraha town to clear civil services examination. After the achievement, the area residents, relatives of Harpreet Singh reached his house and celebrated with the family.
