Actor Sivaji has said the criticism that not a single brick has been laid in Amaravati is not true and asserted that if the construction of YSRCP chief Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s residence took three years, completion of the capital city project will certainly take more time.
Giving a presentation titled ‘Truth with Sivaji’ on the development that took place in Amaravati and other current issues at a press conference here on Sunday,
Mr. Sivaji said he might be branded as a supporter of the TDP, but he would not stop telling what was actually transpiring in the political landscape.
He said those who wanted to know the reality should visit Amaravati instead of making baseless charges and expressed apprehension that the capital city might be shifted out of the present location if the YSRCP came to power.
Mr. Sivaji also predicted that a regional party would merge with the BJP after elections and alleged that both the BJP and the Telangana Rashtra Samiti have own interests behind their interference in the affairs of Andhra Pradesh.
People should think twice before voting for Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy as the criminal cases pending against him could not be taken lightly, Mr. Sivaji said, while claiming to have no objection if JSP chief Pawan Kalyan or Praja Santhi Party founder K.A. Paul was voted to power.
‘Clear U-turn’
Reacting to these comments at a seperate press conference, Nandigam Suresh, YSRCP candidate for Bapatla Lok Sabha constituency, said Mr. Sivaji’s intention was clear that he wants to elevate Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu to a new high when only a few days were left for the elections.
He sought to remind people that Mr. Sivaji had criticised the Chief Minister for his alleged failure in securing the Special Category Status and that he now took his own ‘U’ turn to score brownie points.
