NDRF, SDMA conduct joint mock exercise in Chakan

PUNE: The Maharashtra State Disaster Management Authority (SDMA) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) on Friday conducted ‘Tatpar-2019’ a joint mock exercise at Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (IOCL) LPG bottling plant on Chakan-Shikrapur Road.

The exercise was conducted for multiple disasters like terrorist attack, fire, chemical emergency and radiological dispersal device (RDD). 

Apart from chemical, biological, radiological and nuclear (CBRN) team of Unit 5 BN NDRF, State Disaster Management Authority, Disaster Management Branch, District Magistrate Office Pune, QRT of Pune Police, QRT of 242 BN Central Reserve Police Force, State Disaster Response Force Dhule, Directorate of Industrial Safety and Health, Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited, Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited, Disaster Management Department of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC), Fire department of PCMC, Fire Department of Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) Chakan, Civil Defence, Local Police, Staff of IOCL and local villagers participated in the exercise.

Table top exercise for this state-level mock exercise was conducted on April 4 at   IOCL LPG bottling plant to understand the capabilities of all stakeholder agencies. On April 5, all stakeholder agencies participated in this mock exercise to ensure multiagency coordination and integrated response during disasters.
