Hansi’s Himanshu Nagpal bags all-India 26th rank in UPSC

HISAR: Hansi resident Himanshu Nagpal, 22, has secured 26th rank in the UPSC exam in first attempt. Himanshu is son of homemaker Puspalata and Pankaj Nagpal, journalist with a vernacular daily.
Himanshu told TOI that was hoping to join the Indian Administrative Service (IAS). Even second choice would be the Indian Police Service (IPS) as he was not interested in the prestigious Indian Foreign Services (IFS), he added.
The family, relatives and friends started celebrations as soon as the results was declared on Friday. People associated with various political and social institutions of the city also arrived at Huda Sector 6 house of the family to congratulate them.
Himanshu was a school topper in Hansi in Class XII before he joined Hansraj College of the Delhi University for BCom.
His grandmother Shila Devi said Himanshu was always serious about his studies He did not come to Hansi from Delhi even during festivals like Holi and Diwali as he was busy studying, she added.
Himanshu said his parents and family were his source of inspiration.
