With just six days to go for the first phase of Lok Sabha polls, AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Friday turned up the poll heat by holding a roadshow in Ghaziabad.
Priyanka, during the two-hour-long road show, tried to woo the voters in support of party's candidate from Ghaziabad LS seat Dolly Sharma.
Draped in a maroon colour saree, Priyanka was seen sitting atop a white SUV along with Dolly Sharma and waving the cheering supporters.
Congress cadre were walking along with Priyanka's cavalcade holding party flags and various cut outs dotted with party slogans against the Modi government.
As her cavalcade passed through the narrow lanes and bylanes of Ghaziabad, supporters – lined on both sides of the road as well as on the roofs of houses – were seen greeting Priyanka by showering flowers at her.
The Gandhi scion also left no stones unturned, obliging her supporters, clicking selfies with them. Slogans like 'Priyanka Gandhi aandhi hai. Dusri Indira Gandhi hai' (Priyanka Gandhi is a typhoon) were raised as her cavalcade criss-crossed Ghaziabad constituency.
Interestingly, slogans like 'Modi Modi' and 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' were also raised during Priyanka's road show.
Speaking at Maliwara Chowk, Priyanka criticised the Modi government alleging under the current dispensation "those in the corridors of power only were getting stronger," and that PM Modi is unable to list even one achievement of his rule.
Talking to DNA, a PCC member, on condition of anonymity, said Priyanka's roadshow "hardly makes an impact" as Ghaziabad will ultimately vote for BJP and Union Minister VK Singh. Ghaziabad goes to polls on May 11.
