The Election Commission on Friday advised Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to be more careful in future, in connection with his ‘Modiji ki sena’ remark.

Mr. Yogi sent his response to the Commission’s show cause notice for the alleged Model Code of Conduct violation.

However, the poll panel was not satisfied with the explanation. “He has been formally advised to be more careful in future,” said an official.

The notice was served on Mr. Adityanath for his comments describing the armed forces as “Modiji ki sena”.

At a rally in Ghaziabad on Sunday, the Chief Minister criticised the Congress saying that it served “biryani” to terrorists, while Mr. Modi’s forces treated them with bullets and bombs.

Mr. Adityanath’s remarks evoked a sharp reaction from the Opposition parties.
