Leaking pipeline repaired in Mahalaxmi

After repair work of a leaking water pipeline in Mahalaxmi went on for about a week, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has finally managed to restore water supply. The 600-mm pipeline which supplies water to Byculla started leaking about a week ago.

This caused low pressure supply, due to which residents had been complaining for a week. “Our supply timing is the same but we have been getting water with low pressure. At least they should increase timing,” said Sakina Khan, a resident of Byculla.

Certain material had to be brought from Pune, which delayed repairs. “We had not stopped supply, but it was with low pressure. Work has been completed and supply will resume on Saturday with full force,” an official from the Hydraulic Engineer Department said.
