'I've been told the picture is going around and I've seen it,' Broncos coach Anthony Seibold told The Sunday Telegraph.
'I don't know when the photo was taken or where it was taken. That's what we've got to find out.'
An NRL spokesperson has said that the photo is an issue that the Broncos will have to deal with.
A Broncos club spokesperson has refused to comment.
The image emerged after a serious of NRL scandals. Penrith Panthers player Tyrone Phillips was recently charged with mid-range drink driving.
NRL star Luke O'Donnell has pleaded guilty to stashing cocaine in his underpants during a police bust last year.
Roberts has previously been sacked from the South Sydney Rabbitohs and Penrith Panthers for breaches of contract.
In 2012 he was axed from the Rabbitohs after breaching his playing contract.
He then signed with the Panthers but was sacked in 2014 as a result of off-field indiscretions.
He didn't play on Thursday due to an Achilles injury but is expected to be returning in reserve grade.
