The body was found inside her Marlborough Way property at Sydenham in Melbourne's north-west on Saturday at about 10am.

Residents say they've previously heard the woman get into arguments with people in the area.

Detectives are yet to confirm the exact cause of her death although it is being treated as suspicious

'She used to drive down to the Watergardens Shopping Centre and have arguments with people in the shopping centre,' one man told 9News.

'There's definitely been occasions she's had arguments with other people – for what reasons, I don't know,' she said.

Her home is currently under examination.  

Another resident described the woman as a 'lovely' person who 'loved dogs and kids'.

She mentioned the news of her death was 'confronting' and 'sad' in the quiet neighbourhood.
