Former minister and Congress leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy said Animal Husbandry Minister T. Srinivas Yadav was violating all norms yet the officials were turning a blind eye.
Mr. Reddy, who spoke to reporters here on Sunday, said officials should deploy shadow teams to track down how Mr. Yadav was violating the norms and terrorising the voters. He said there was a fear that Mr. Yadav would threaten people in the constituency before and on the polling day and police should ensure that he and his family members do not commit any offence.
Mr. Reddy alleged that Secunderabad TRS candidate, Sai Kiran Yadav, son of Mr. Srinivas Yadav, was involved in several crimes. There were allegations against him that he kidnapped husband of Araku MP and he was also involved in several settlements. Several cases were also pending against the brothers of Mr. Srinivas Yadav, he alleged. So police and officials should keep track on them given their earlier record of threatening people.
He said Chief Secretary S.K. Joshi was violating the election code and releasing reports in favour of the ruling party, and demanded immediate action against him. He also demanded the Election Commission of India (ECI) to transfer the Chief Secretary to uphold the integrity of the office.
