Polling in all 90 sensitive and critical booths in Ariyalur district would be web streamed, according to Returning Officer of Chidambaram constituency M. Vijayalakshmi.
After visiting some of the sensitive booths, including Meensuriti, Kaduvetti, Peria Krishnapuram, Vilanthai and Padanilai, along with Superintendent of Police V.R. Sreenivasan on Saturday, Ms. Vijayalakshmi said that out of 297 booths in Ariyalur Assembly segment, 52 booths had been identified as sensitive, based on incidents during the previous elections. Similarly, 35 booths had been classified as sensitive and two booths as critical out of 290 booths in Jayankondam segment.
In addition to 90 sensitive and critical booths, she said entire proceedings of 103 booths would be video recorded. As many as 74 officials would be posted for handling web camera. Arrangements were made to deploy Central Reserve Police Force personnel at all sensitive and critical booths to prevent untoward incidents, Ms. Vijayalakshmi said.
