Nainital–Udhamsingh Nagar Lok Sabha constituency is one of the five parliamentary constituencies in Uttarakhand. Formed after 2008 delimitation, it comprises fourteen legislative assembly segments of two districts - Udham Singh Nagar and part of Nainital district.
BJP has fielded Ajay Bhatt from here after sitting MP Bhagat Singh Koshiyari decided not to contest this time to make room for younger leaders. Bhatt will face former Chief Minister Harish Rawat of the Congress and Navneet Agarwal of the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
In the 2014 Lok Sabha election, BJP's Koshyari had trounced Congress' Karan Chand Singh Baba by over 2.84 lakh votes. The voter turnout was recorded at 68.41.
However, in 2009, when the election were held for the first time since the formation of the Lok Sabha constituency, Baba had defeated Bachi Singh Rawat by more than 88,000 votes.
