BSEB 10th Result 2019: With 16 out of 18, Simultala shines in Class X board exam

PATNA: Students from Simultala Awasiya Vidyalaya (SAV), Jamui continued with their eye catching performance as 16 of them made to the top ten lists in the Bihar School Examination Board's matriculation results, which was announced on Saturday.

Bihar Board recorded a pass percentage of 80.73% in class X. The pass percentage of students has gone up by 11.84% in compared to last year's 68.89%. Total 13,20,036 candidates were successful while 3,14,813 students flunked in the examinations.


Unlike last year, this time boys have outshone the girls by bagging top three positions. Sawan Raj Bharti of SAV, Jamui was declared as the topper in class X examination with 97.2%. He was followed by Rounit Raj of the same school with 96.6% while the third topper Priyanshu Raj of SAV, Jamui scored 96.2%.

Of the total 8,37,767 girls who appeared for the exam, 6,36,046 passed. This year, 8,26,334 boys appeared for the exam and 6,83990 cleared it. Total 2,90,666 students make it to first division, 5,56,131 passed with second division and 4,54,450 with third division. Total 179 results were pending while 221 were debarred.

The class X results were jointly announced by the state education department additional chief secretary RK Mahajan and Bihar board chairman Anand Kishor here at BSEB headquarter before it was uploaded on Board's official website- www.bsebresult.online and www.bsebonline.org.

Addressing the mediapersons, Kishor said total 18 students were figured in the top ten lists of which 16 of them are from SAV Jamui. The other two candidates are from Madhubani and West Champaran, he said.

The SAV, Jamui first hit the headlines in 2015, when the school had made the record of producing 30 out of 31 in top 10 rank holders in class X board exam. The school was set up in 2010 by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar along the lines of the Netarhat Residential School in Jharkhand.


Kishor said Bihar Board had taken several measures to declare the results than previous years which includes the deputation of computer operators at each evaluation centres to feed the marks of candidates in the software that automatically receives at the Board office. "Apart from this, we introduce the bar coded answer copies with the student's details which was pre-printed on first page," he said.


To improve the results and to conduct fair examinations, the Board has also introduced ten sets of question papers. Multiple options were given in long-type questions and short questions and the weightage of higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) was also reduced in objective-type questions. The result was also improved due to moderation policy adopted by the Bihar Board.


This year 16,35,070 candidates appeared for the class X board examination at 1,418 exam centres in Bihar. The examinations were held from February 21 to 28 and the practical examinations were held in January. Total 162 candidates barred from the examination for malpractices and 56 impersonators were caught.


The evaluation of answer copies of class X was started from March 8 and concluded on March 27 at 173 evaluation centres. For evaluation work, the Bihar Board has also deputed the teachers of all major universities of state.
