Stellar performance shown by NDA cadets in shooting championship

PUNE: The National Defence Academy (NDA) team, comprising of 6 cadets, put up a stellar show during 15th Gen JJ Singh shooting championship in Mhow recently. The cadets won one gold and two bronze medals. 

Gen JJ Singh Memorial Championship is conducted every year at Army Marksman Unit, Infantry School in Mhow to spot young shooting talents among officers and cadets for participation in upcoming national and international events.

The 15th Gen JJ Singh Shooting Championship was organised from March 25 to April 3. 

A total of 9 teams, including teams from six Army Commands, Rashtriya Indian Military College Dehradun, CME Pune and National Defence Academy, participated in various air rifle and pistol events.

The NDA team won one gold and two bronze medals. 

Cdt Sushant Kawan won gold and cadet Watan Sharma won a bronze medal in .177 air pistol event, while cadet Kapil Dhiman secured bronze in .177 air rifle event.

The NDA team overall stood first in both the events and lifted the championship trophy.
