YSRCP president Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has promised free healthcare for all whose annual income is below ₹5 lakh.
“Our government will provide universal health cards to such families, and medical bills above ₹1,000 will be covered under Arogyasri,” Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy announced at a roadshow at MTB Centre in Guntur.
He promised to fill 2.30 lakh vacancies after coming to power. In the Village Secretariats, which would be set up in every village, 10 government jobs each would be created, he added. “I will also ensure that 75% jobs are earmarked for locals in all government notifications and streamline the APPSC calendar,” he said. The YSRCP president began his speech with a scathing attack on the TDP government.
“The TDP misrule has led to an outbreak of cholera in Old Guntur in which 32 persons died,” he alleged.
Addressing a roadshow at the Gangamma Temple Circle at Kuppam, the fortress of Mr. Naidu, he said: “Mr. Naidu shifted to Kuppam for good after suffering defeat in Chandragiri, his home constituency, in the 1983 elections as the Congress candidate.” The YSRCP chief alleged that Mr. Naidu had not done much for development of Kuppam.”
The Chief Minister was against the Palar river project in Kuppam, fearing that the development would make the BCs realise their importance.
“Mr. Naidu had stealthily made Tamil Nadu approach the Supreme Court against it. However, Y.S. Rajasekhara Reddy gave a new lease of life to it. It was YSR who introduced the Arogyasri scheme in Kuppam,” Mr. Jagan Mohan Reddy said.
Distress sale
With no marketing facility for chrysanthemums, farmers were resorting to distress sale, he alleged.
